Employers will be interested in attending this seminar on workplace flexibility being held next week in Sydney.

Interested in hearing from the experts on workplace flexibility?

Then get yourself along to an upcoming Sydney seminar titled on ‘Navigating workplace flexibility’ on Tuesday, July 13.

Keynote speakers are Professor Ellen Kossek (Michigan State University) and Juliet Bourke, partner, Aequus Partners, an organisation which has worked with many public and private organisations on diversity and workplace flexibility research and training projects.

Professor Kossek is a University Distinguished Professor at Michigan State University's Graduate School of Labor & Industrial Relations. Her presentation will focus on ‘flexstyles’ - the different ways that people psychologically manage work-life boundaries in the age of 24/7 work, IT enabled accessibility, and family obligations.

Her presentation will also look at the questions: Are you an integrator, separator, or volleyer? How can you create more positive work-life relationships? Helping businesses manage the ‘right to request’ flexibility.

Juliet Bourke, partner at Aequus Partners, will discuss new research findings and practical ideas for organisations to bridge the gap between flexibility policy and practice.

She will explore themes like: Does training really help to build managerial capability to implement a flexibility agenda? What does the ‘right to request’ flexibility mean for employers? What are market leaders doing? What is the outlook and where are we heading?

This seminar will help businesses respond to employee requests for flexible work arrangements and better understand how employees manage work-life boundaries.

Seminar details: The seminar is being held from 9.30am to 12 noon at Pinaroo 4 room, Grace Hotel, 77 York St, Sydney, on Tuesday, July 13. Cost: $90 (+GST).
