Designed by a physiotherapist, the Atlas SitSafe Table is a modified
table which allows people with special needs to be seated at a
comfortable, practical and dignified distance from the table, for meals
and other activities.
In doing so, it lessens the pressure on carers who often put strain on their backs in having to push the chairs with the patient already seated. This table features one fixed centre panel and two lift up panels. The seated person is positioned at the table while the closest panel is lifted up. The panel is then lowered to a position directly in front of the table. When the panels are up, the exposed table steel frame is useful for balance and support. This assists during transition from standing to sitting positions.
Levelling foot pads stabilise the table on uneven floors and a recessed fixed centre panel allows easy and safe lifting / lowering of flip up panels. The table is available in a rectangular or oval top with a range of wood grain finishes. The overall dimensions of the table are 750mm wide, 810mm deep and 730mm high.
