The frames are made of high strength moulded plastic and a mesh
material and are rust resistant, lightweight and strong. All
adjustments that might need to be made are tool-free.The bath chair comes in three sizes for users up to 173cm in height. It sits in the bottom of the bath. The height and backrest can be adjusted and there is a removable head support, body and leg straps to keep the user stable. The chair folds flat for easy storage and has slip-resistant rubber tips. An adult user would need to be able to step into the bath unaided, but a small child could possibly be lifted.
The second part of this system is the tub stand, which raises the bath
chair to the wheelchair height of 43cms, enabling an easier transfer.
This method is designed for people who only have a shower over a
bathtub and need the person to be kept in a secure position while
showering. Lifting a heavy adult into the bath chair would require a
hoist and a mesh lifting harness. The third part of this system is the shower stand, which raises the bath chair to an overall height of 71cms. This allows a carer to shower a person without stooping or bending. The shower stand is on lockable castors and means a carer can wheel a person straight into the shower. Again, a hoist with a mesh lifting harness would be required to lift a heavy adult into the bath chair. Some of the products FAS specialises in include: adaptive equipment, bathing aids, daily living aids, gym, toys and positioning, hoists and patient handling, physiotherapy equipment, seating and transport, toileting aids, vestibular equipment and walking aids. Their new catalogue features more than 30 new products with greater emphasis on seating solutions. They have introduced several customised new
